Corporation: Hey, does Cocoa include something to help us write apps that talk to our Oracle database?

Apple: Um, nope. But isn’t GarageBand cool?

Corporation: Hmm.

Makes Retard Hand Gestures

Seriously, it is 2008. If you create a page for your event, include an ADDRESS or a LINK TO GOOGLE MAPS. Whoever created this Greek Festival page took the time to visit maps.google.com, type in the church’s address, take a screenshot and embed it in a PDF. I applaud their effort, but why didn’t they just include a link to the map they found? It would have been easier for them and easier for me. As it stands….the page has no address on it. To get personalized directions, I had to go to google, type in the intersection and get the map myself.

You created a webpage, this means you can safely assume that your readers have access to the internets and will follow the links you give.

“It’s probably the most thinking Geideman ever did compiling a checklist, save for the 1992 Upper Deck set when he assigned numbers that ended in 69 to players with porn-star-sounding names. (Dick Schofield at No. 269, Heathcliff Slocumb at No. 569, and Dickie Thon at No. 769.)” —The enduring popularity of the 1989 Upper Deck Ken Griffey Jr. card. - By Darren Rovell - Slate Magazine

“(p. 191) … I saw a police officer give an addict back his heroin when the addict was released after a night in jail for some petty crime. I expressed my amazement to the officer that he could give illegal drugs back to a criminal. He explained to me that as soon as the man ran out of heroin, he would break into a car to get money to buy his next hit. It made no sense to the police officer to hasten the addict’s next criminal act by taking away his drugs. I asked about sending the wrong message. The police officer said his message was stop breaking into cars.” — Robbers and Cops - Freakonomics - Opinion - New York Times Blog
